Lodging inside the park

  • Gulpha Gorge Campground: 44 sites for tents or RVs, each with full hookups. All sites require advance reservations through Recreation.gov, and stays are limited to 14 consecutive nights.
  • Hotel Hale: a historic bathhouse on Bathhouse Row converted to a hotel with nine suites, each with a soaking tub fed by thermal spring water.

The park surrounds the north end of the city of Hot Springs, so everyone else stays in hotels, motels and rentals in town or around the lakes. The National Park Service sends visitors to the Hot Springs visitors bureau for those options.

Visitor numbers

National Park Service figures show 2,494,611 recreation visits in 2025, up from about 1.33 million in 2013. The park's highest year in that record was 2022, at about 2.65 million.

Notes for hosts

  • Give guests real distances: minutes by car or on foot to Bathhouse Row, the visitor center and trailheads such as Gulpha Gorge.
  • Parking downtown matters to park visitors. If you have off-street parking, say so plainly.
  • Many guests come for the thermal baths. Point them to the bathhouses that offer soaks and suggest booking ahead.
  • Inside city limits, every short-term rental needs a Hot Springs business license. The city's July 2025 update says new licenses in residential zones (capped at 400) are not available, while non-residential zones are still open to applications.
