The plan
Joey Lauren Adams, the North Little Rock native known for Chasing Amy and Dazed and Confused, lives in Hot Springs. She and her husband, cinematographer Brian Vilim, are opening a bistro called Lyle's, named for her late father.
The restaurant is going into the former Chex-2-Cash building at 1016 Central Ave. The kitchen will be run by the co-owner of Sedalia's, an oyster and seafood restaurant in Oklahoma City, who was a 2025 James Beard Awards finalist.
A second phase calls for Hotel Algoma, a 15- to 16-room boutique hotel at 1028 Central Ave. The name comes from the 1914 building's original use as the Algoma Sanitarium. As of February 2026 the couple were aiming to open the restaurant in fall 2026, with the hotel to follow.
Notes for hosts
- Opening dates for new restaurants often slip. Check Lyle's own announcements before you mention it in listing copy.
- Once it opens and you have eaten there, it can go in your house guidebook with your honest take.
- Hotel Algoma would add a small number of downtown rooms. Keep an eye on it if you run a rental near Central Avenue.
